I had a long, hard fight with the sewing machine (and ripped seams at least once on the shoes), but here is my first ever FABRIC plushie! OMG! Her head's a little misshapen, I didn't quite stuff it as full as it should be. (Edit: I put more stuffing in her head, so it looks a little better now)
Robe took two attempts to get right, obi took two attempts to get right, the hair isn't the best thing ever, but it's not bad. I love her bangs and her face though.
After a get my serger, she'll get her outer robe, headpiece, and veil (the headpiece and veil are going to be removable too!)
Stats: 12 inches tall Three days work (sporadic, and one day I spent maybe 30 minutes cutting fabric) Flesh tone, navy, and white (under the hair) are flannel. Black is polar fleece. Hair is felt. Obi made from light blue quilted fabric remnant I found at Wal-Mart for cheap. Features painted on with acrylic paint.
By the way, I used Baby London Star's Pattern since I've never made a fabric plush before. I did, however, take the pattern to Office Depot and make it 150% larger, because my test plush was WAY TOO SMALL. I couldn't work with the pieces. Even at this size I had a hard time with the smaller parts.
