Clockwork Navy Project Pg01by ~lizstaley

Page that I finished yesterday for a project being put together by a friend of mine. It's a collection of Steampunk comics that were all written by her but are going to be drawn by different artists. Should be on sale this summer, I believe.

This is the first page of my comic story, which is Clockwork Navy. I put a ton of work in to this page, hours and hours of work and I hope it shows. I think my favorite parts are the window on the right, the boats, and the old couple arguing. Oh, and I like the airships.

Should have more preview bits as I get them done, though none will have text, so if you want to read the story you'll have to get the collection!

Background sketched on paper, then inks, figures, and detailing done in Adobe Photoshop CS4 with Wacom Graphire.

I'm very proud to see that not only are you still pushing yourself to continue working but that your art is improving in areas I hadn't seen before. The brushwork is certainly better (it takes a good while to really get comfortable with) and the perspective it solid, complete with a crowd scene no doubt. The Joe is pleased.

Even if I don't say anything, I'm always watching the progress, especially when you've been working as hard as you have on your work.

Keep plugging away, and digital brushwork is fine provided you keep working on the real stuff.
