My buddy @uncaringmachine from Twitter was wondering how I get my lines so smooth (and was about to kill his Photoshop) so I threw this together in literal moments to help him out. Hopefully it does!

Aw, he's gonna straighten his linework? I always liked his crumpled lines in Captain Ahole. It made it charming.

Good tutorial though. It's a good solution most don't consider when aiming for smooth lines.

What he showed me was REALLY off from what he normally does, even. I could tell the difference, so I think something's changed in his Photoshop settings and he didn't know it.

Do you know anything about working with GIMP?

Not offhand, because I haven't tried GIMP. But from my understanding, GIMP works pretty much just like Photoshop as far as tools. Things might be in slightly different places, but this advice would still work with GIMP. (It would work with just about anything, since the resolution is what's important)
