Tail Expressions Sheetby ~lizstaley

Yesterday when I was working on the Ara expression sheet, a friend mentioned that I should make a sheet for Ara's tail. This was the most challenging expression sheet EVER, and also the fastest one I've ever done.

And, for the uninitiated, I think I should explain that Ara's tail is... special... And by special I mean it's an NPC in the game that I play her in. I have no control over the tail, it has skill dice in pick pocket, and it does whatever it wants. It's also 3 meters long... on a 2 meter tall character... So there aren't the things that her tail would be doing if she was feeling these emotions... These are the TAIL'S emotions...

Though, if I had to go back and do it again, I'd probably use ONE pen throughout. I used my Faber Castell Small point "manga pen" for the first row. That was taking too long, so I switched to a Dual Brush Pen for the next three rows. Those pens SUCK and they have no control to them. At ALL. Then today I bought a new set of Faber Castell pens, one of which is a SWEET brush pen that I already love, so I inked the bottom row with that one.

I like the bottom row most in terms of inking, just looks clean, but the lines have a certain pudginess to them. Looks good.

And wow. This gave me a great laugh. The tail really has emotions that are clear to see, great work!
