I am currently open for $6 "30 minute" commissions! $6 sent to my PayPal gets you 30 minutes of drawing time, where I will take your request and get as far as I can in the sketch/ink/color process. I'm a pretty fast artist, so simpler requests I'll get further along on in half an hour than something that has a full background or lots of characters. All art will be done in Manga Studio 5 on my tablet.

What I WILL draw:
Fan-art
OCs
Furries/Anthros
Mechas
Mechanical objects in general
Yaoi, Slash, Yuri
Backgrounds/Landscapes
Action scenes
Adult material (within reason. I reserve the right to refuse an adult drawing if it makes me uncomfortable)

What I WON'T draw:
Excessive gore (especially things happening to eyes. Sorry guys, it's a personal squick- I don't mind some blood and guts but nothing too graphic)
Scat/Watersports

YOU MAY:
Commission me and repost the image to personal sites, RP sites, etc, so long as my signature remains unedited and I get a link back to either lizstaley.deviantart.com or adrastuscomic.com
Pay for more time on one drawing. (i.e. I get through the sketch portion of your commission but you'd like it inked, you may pay for another 30 minutes and have me continue work on the same drawing)
Ink/Color an unfinished drawing that you've commissioned from me yourself and repost it, again so long as my signature is not removed and you give credit for the portions of the art that I did.

YOU MAY NOT:
Edit/crop my signature off.
Commission another artist to ink/color an unfinished sketch without asking me first.

Your $6 gets you:
30 minutes of time (per $6) where I will work exclusively on your commission.
A 150dpi jpg of the drawing once the paid for time is done.
My eternal love and gratitude for supporting independent artists and getting me through a mild financial crisis.
Some bitchin' art that you will love! (I hope.)

To commission me, send $6/30 Minutes requested and a description of what you want to dynamitecandy [at] gmail [dot] com. I am working on a book right now, but it should take me no longer than 5 days to complete your commission. If I think it will be longer then I'll keep you updated. (I'm really good about that) If you want to run an idea for a commission by me before paying to see if I'd be comfortable drawing it, then please send me a note or an email at the above address with something about $6 commissions in the subject.

Thank you!

Interrupting my panicked state of reblogging SPN finale nonsense to ask if anyone would be interested in $6 "30 minute" commissions. You pay $6 and tell me what to draw, I work on it for 30 minutes. I'm a pretty fast artist so I can usually get a quick sketch and inks done in that amount of time depending on what it is.

I'm opening for these because I need a little extra cash to float me through the rest of the week. Small miscalculation with the finances and no book money in my pocket yet to get me through.

My buddy Hushicho and I had a great idea the other day! Well, we think it's a great idea anyway and wanted to put out feelers to see if it would even be feasible or if there's interest at all.

We both have work, and know people who have work, for anthologies that never saw the light of day. Art, stories, comics that were supposed to be published but the publication fell apart or never happened. So we were thinking about putting together an anthology of work done for failed anthologies.

"Anti-thology" is just a rough idea right now, so we're trying to put out some feelers for it to see if there would be interest. (Personally I think we could have more content than we'd know what to do with, considering how many anthologies fail every year. I made the quip that we could probably rival Encyclopedia Britanica). If you think you'd be interested if we got this up and running, please let me know. Like I said, there's nothing set in stone right now, we're just trying to see if there's any interest at all.

Today at 3 p.m. EST I'm going to be doing a live online panel at WEBReef on how to use Manga Studio!

SPOILER ALERT!! I will be showing pages that are from Chapter 7 of my web-comic, Adrastus!! END SPOILER ALERT!!

You can get to WEBReeF by going here: [link]

My Manga Studio introduction panel that I did yesterday at WEBReeF was recorded and is now available for viewing, so if you missed it you can still watch and get some information! Here's the [link]

And if you missed the Mechabowl panel last night at 7, I pity you. That was HILARIOUS.

Also, I was interviewed by Jazma Online about my comic. The interview was really fun and you can read it here: [link]

(This is copy-pasted from my website, [link] )

I'm sitting here at 4 a.m. on the morning of Christmas Eve, trying to clean up the script for Chapter 7 of the comic, and realizing that I have no Saturday Sketch post prepared. So I thought I would just do a blog post instead. Might be long, might not be. Will most likely be rambling brain-dump, so I apologize for that.

2011 has been an incredible year for me and I am so, so thankful for every wonderful thing that's happened to me. I have some of the best readers ever (the small number of you there are!) and you guys are awesome. The comments, the gifts of art, the retweets on Twitter and the discussions on Facebook have all just been wonderful and have kept me going this year in times of darkness when I wasn't sure that I was getting this out to anyone at all. You all have given me feedback when I've needed it, encouragement when I was feeling down, and kicks in my @$$ when I was being a whiner, all of which I have needed and appreciated! I just can't thank you all enough for hanging around, for taking the time out of your day to share this story that I'm having so much fun writing.

I've had the opportunity to do some incredible things too! I've been on TGT three times now, twice as a co-host and once as a guest. I've gotten goo-gobs of incredible art from those of you who have taken the time to do me a piece. I had the chance to be a guest at the first ever Digi-con in September and do some panels with some other awesome creators! I also went to InterventionCon, and Anime:USA saw my presence once again as well. I also became a regular guest, and then a co-host of The Tropecast, as well as continuing to co-host the Rho Pi Gamma podcast my husband and I do, and was an impromptu guest on an episode of The Dish as well! Every convention, every podcast appearance has taught me so much and allowed me to meet so many wonderful people that I just want to do one every day sometimes. Many thanks to those who have come by my table, bought my first book, attended panels that I've run, listened to interviews, given me a gift of your time by doing guest art, and just being a wonderful inspiration to me.

Looking back though at the year as the end of it comes speeding along, I've also started looking forward to the next year and setting goals. I went in to 2011 with two goals: Get a new tablet, and move to my own domain. I achieved both of these things well before the end of the year, and have since been coasting along just trying to improve the art and pick up new tools and tricks.

For 2012 though, I have quite a few goals. In no particular order:

Have a fundraiser early in the year for a Cintiq tablet. (In the planning stages of the incentives, it's going to be awesome)
Go back to updating 3 days a week
Switch to MangaStudio for doing the comic art
Start doing more blog posts, tutorials, and extra art for my readers
Advertise more and grow the readership of Adrastus
Go to more conventions (as a guest, working on this right now)
Be on at least 4 podcasts, not as a co-host
Make more merchandise
Lofty goals, probably, but they're something for me to guide my little boat here by, and I hope to achieve at least most of them before the end of 2012. This comic is so important to me. I love every minute of working on it. I love interacting with my readers. I love drawing and writing and just everything about DOING this comic, and I can't wait to be able to devote more time to it and get it out to more and more readers who will love it too.

I'm looking forward to 2012 and can't wait to get in to the nitty gritty of this tale. Thanks again to every one of you for the time you give me- it's the best gift you can give. The time you take to read the pages, to comment, to look at my blog posts, to talk to me on Twitter and Facebook, to chip in on GAX art when I go on hiatus, to review Adrastus and link to it, or to have me on your podcast is a gift from the heart and I'm truly, truly grateful for it. This year has been humbling, informative, and probably one of the best of my life.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and see you all in 2012!

I got invited to be on a podcast called TGTWebcomics a while ago, and the time has finally arrived! This saturday, at 7p.m. EST, I'll be talking live about my web-comic, Adrastus. I'd love it if as many people as I can possibly get would come out and hang in the chat room and ask me questions! You'll be able to hear the live show by going here: [link]

TGTWebcomics is a podcast made by readers, for readers, and interviews comic creators from across the internet. It's a great show, and has had some huge names in the web-comic scene on it. Each week someone gets to be interviewed live, and each show features a Spoiler section where you get a preview of the coming events in your favorite comics!

If you've never read my comic, you can check it out in my signature. Adrastus is the story of a girl who finds out that the skeleton lurking in her family's closet is a giant alien robot! She then must learn to pilot the robot to save the Earth from an alien invasion. If you like mecha, you should come check it out at [link] (and find the comic on Facebook too, at [link] )

It seems that my 8 year old Graphire has finally started to say that enough is enough. It's begun to act up a bit, not a lot, just enough to make me start worrying. It's getting to be time to replace it and I've already begun to save for another one. However saving isn't going so well because work keeps sending me home early and I'm taking huge hits on my paycheck. So I thought I would open up for commissions in exchange for some donations. Read below for details!

$6 (30-Minute Bust Commissions)
For $6 I will set a timer for 30 minutes and draw a bust portrait of the character of your choice. However far I get in that 30 minutes is what you will receive (so if in 30 minutes I get full inks done, then you get an inked picture for just $6!). You may pay for additional 30 minute slots too for the same picture!

$10 (Art card Commissions)
For $10 I will do an art card (2.5x3.5 inches of lovely, thick cardstock) of the characters of your choice- up to 2 characters on one card, which is about the max I can fit comfortably. The card will be inked and colored. Additionally, US shipping is INCLUDED in this price. International, please contact for a quote (though it wouldn't be much, unless you order a whole ton of cards and the envelope is really heavy.)

$25 (Inked full body)
For $25 I will do an inked full body drawing of one character. You may either get this digitally or tradtionally. Traditional includes shipping of the original drawing. If you choose digital you will get a high-res file of the drawing for your printing use.

$26+ (??????)
If you have more you can spare, we can certainly talk about what I can do for you! I can draw, I have tons of art card blanks and watercolor paper, and I make custom My Little Ponies. Hit me up and we can chat about details!

I was hoping to avoid this, but I just can't, unfortunately.

With the way that the end of my year is going, I just can't keep up with my comic this month and do everything else that is expected of me. I just had a job interview last Monday, so may be starting a job next week. There are Christmas gifts to be made, and my husband and I are planning to move at the end of this month/beginning of next. With moving comes selling off old stuff on Etsy and Ebay so that we don't have as much stuff to move and so that we have some extra moving money. Were it not for the moving, I could probably keep up, but I'm swamped.

So I've decided that I need to put the comic on hiatus for December. I will need guest art (I know, I just asked for some a few months ago!) to fill the void until I can get back to updating. Even just a sketch would be great, and I would, of course, link to whatever site(s) you wished to link to.

The Comic is here, for those who don't read it already. Character art, pinups, guest comics, whatever you want to do will be a big help! (Just no pr0n, please. I try to keep the site relatively PG-13.)

Thank you, everyone!

I get a lot of comments on my Labyrinth, Firefly, Princess Bride, and other buttons. Well, guess what. I'm having a HUGE moving sale and I have some of these buttons still left!

So, this is your LAST CHANCE to pick some of these up! They're reduced in price to $6 for 5 buttons. You can see what I have relisted so far if you go here: [link]

I still have 2 Firefly sets (though one is only a set of 4... unless I throw an exclusive design I never released in to that set...), Transformers, Gaming, Sci-fi, Retail Sucks, Pirates of the Caribbean, and some other stuff. If any of those sound like something you're interested in and it's NOT UP IN THE SHOP YET, please contact me. You do not have to buy these through my Etsy shop, I would be happy to send a PayPal invoice (or trade for My Little Ponies...)

Happy shopping and thanks for looking!

The following are the Terms of Service for commissions for Elizabeth Staley. By commissioning me, you agree that you have read and understood them. If there are any questions, please contact me, either by Note or by emailing me at liz AT dynamitecandy DOT com.

Section I - Services

My list of prices is HERE: [link]

The following is a list of what I will NOT draw. Please do not ask for commissions of this nature.
- Cub/Child Porn
-Bestiality
-Water sport/scat

The following is a list of things I could draw on a case-by-case basis.
- Excessive amounts of tattoos/piercings/accessories
- Vore (I do not have a problem with, say, big character with little character playfully in their mouth)

The following is a list of things I LIKE to draw!
- Humans, Anthros, and Mecha
- Wings
- Interesting characters (if you're a black wolf, I'll still take your commission, but it will probably be done faster the more interesting your character is)
- Hybrid characters
- Chibis
-Steampunk
- Pirates
(This is by no means a list of the ONLY things I will draw. Just the types of things that I enjoy drawing more than other things)

Section II - Timeline

I reserve the rights to all commissioned work unless otherwise discussed with the commissioner before work is begun. You may repost the piece to your gallery so long as it is not altered in any way and is credited back to me. Icons may be used on other sites without prior permission.

If no deadline is given, my turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. Commissions with a deadline sooner than 3 weeks from the time of deposit may be subject to a rush fee. If it will take longer than 3-4 weeks, I will keep you in the loop as to the status of your commission at least once a week, or you can feel free to email or note me. I'm usually quite good with keeping customers up to date.

I will try to do artwork in the order that I receive payment for it. However, sometimes when I'm waiting for confirmation on something from one commissioner I will start work on another piece. Therefore I may complete work "out of order" from time to time. Commissions go in the queue on a first-pay, first-served basis.

Section III- The Commisson Process

Once you have contacted me with a commission inquiry and we have discussed the particulars and set a final price, I MUST have at least a 50% deposit (minus shipping, if the item will be shipped) before I will begin work or you will be put in the queue.

You will receive preview sketches of your commission, when applicable. Revisions may be made twice to the sketch. After two revisions, each revision will be $5 extra. After the sketch is locked in, inking and coloring will begin, when applicable. If computer coloring, I will send a preview of the flat colors before any shading will begin. Once these flats are approved, no changes will be made.

Shipping of badges, bookmarks, ACEOs, and Pendants is $3 in the United States and $5 for most international destinations. Shipping of any other items (originals, prints, etc) can be discussed either before or after the commission is complete.

I reserve the right to cancel commissions for any reason, though it is my goal not to ever have to do so. In this event, a refund will be given if work has not begun. If work has begun, then a refund will be given for the difference between what was paid for and what was received. (For example: If a soft-shaded CG piece was ordered, and only a sketch was received, then the difference between the two prices will be refunded)

EDIT: I only have a few pieces of art and would really like a few more! (Though if I don't get some I do have a TON of concept art that I could put up, but having guest art would be much more fun!) I can extend the deadline to October 8th at this point, so you have some extra time!

At the beginning of October I'll be at the end of Chapter Two of my web-comic. I want to take a two week break between the chapters, as I did between Chapter One and Chapter Two. To fill updates for those two weeks I would LOVE to have some guest art to showcase! So I'm asking around for some.

If you'd like to have your art on the Adrastus Web-comic site then please send me something (either here on DevArt or send it to dynamitecandy AT gmail dot com) by October 1st. (A few days later would be alright too, but I want to make sure that I have things to put up)

Please remember to put your own web-site address on your guest art! I don't have many readers yet (that I know of) but I definitely want others to be able to find artists that they like if they see them on my site!

Thank you!

PS: Get creative if you want! Doesn't necessarily have to be 2D art if you're feeling otherwise inspired. :)

I've made mention here before that :iconhaloghost: and I entered a contest over on TheFabler.com. She colored the first chapter of my web-comic, Adrastus. Voting for the finalists ended yesterday, and we're one of the Top 3! (actually, we're #3 based on votes!)

Now we go on to the judging portion, which will determine the first, second, and third place winners. We'll find out the results on the 20th. I think we have a really good shot at winning, but we'll see.

If you want to see all of the contest finalists (there are some really good comics here), then here's a [link] to them.

Thank you all so much for your votes! We're over the moon with excitement to even make it to the finals, much less to be ranked #3!

Me and the incredibly awesome :iconhaloghost: have entered a contest over on Fabler! For the past few months she's been going back and coloring my pages for Chapter One of my web-comic, Adrastus. If we win we could both get a grand prize of a Wacom Cintiq tablet!

So, if you're feeling so inclined to help us out and vote for us, visit this [link] and check out the color version of the comic. (Which looks FABULOUS, by the way. Even though the 72 dpi and the small format kills most of Ghost's insane coloring) I think you do have to sign up for an account to vote, but it's easy and free.

Thanks!

I need to come up with about $300 in the next week because we're behind on bills. I'm about to go sell off a bunch of books to put gas in our car. I figure even if this is a long shot, it's worth a try)

As some of you know, I've been working very hard for the past year and half or so to lose 103 pounds. Along the way on my journey I've given myself little rewards, like a new shirt or making myself a plushie, or taking a trip to DC with hubby to the Cherry Blossom Festival. As of today I have officially lost 100 pounds and am only 3 pounds from my goal. My original plans for 100 pounds lost and Goal Met were to go to a spa and to get some nice professional photos taken of me, but I'm just not going to be able to afford those.

So, I'm considering changing my reward to an overall goal of going out and getting clothes that actually fit me. To fund this I'm considering opening up Name Your Own Price Commissions that would go only toward my clothes reward. I need jeans (the two pairs of size 11 jeans that I got from the thrift store about a month ago are already lose, and all my other jeans are size 12 and 14, which are FAR too big for me) and bras mostly and would probably be going to the local thrift stores to keep costs down so I can get the most new wardrobe for my money. Plus, I usually find the most awesome things in the thrift store.

I'm wondering right now NOT if anyone would take me up on this, but am wondering if anyone out there has done any Name Your Own Price Commissions and been successful with them? Did you have any troubles? What should I know before doing this?
